One Ingredient. A Thousand Years of Tradition.

Saffron has been used in Indian kitchens and Ayurvedic practice for centuries. Modern research is catching up to what tradition already knew.

MOOD

Saffron contains safranal, a compound that supports serotonin pathways in the brain. Multiple studies have explored saffron's role in supporting emotional wellbeing and mood stability. It is not a replacement for medical treatment, but as a daily food, it contributes to a more balanced emotional state.

SKIN

Crocin is the powerful antioxidant that gives saffron its deep red colour. It supports skin radiance by protecting against oxidative stress and supporting cellular renewal. Indian grandmothers have been putting saffron in milk for skin for generations. The science now explains why.

SLEEP

When taken in warm milk before bed, saffron has traditionally been used to support calm and restful sleep. The combination of warm milk (tryptophan) and saffron (safranal) creates a natural wind-down ritual.

REPRODUCTIVE HEALTH

Saffron has been used in Ayurveda and Persian traditional medicine for centuries to support reproductive wellness in both women and men. It provides antioxidant protection that supports cellular health in reproductive tissues.

What's inside

Saffron Stigma (Crocus sativus)

Each strand contains three active compounds: Crocin (powerful antioxidant, gives the red colour), Safranal (mood and sleep support, gives the aroma), and Picrocrocin (cellular health, gives the slightly bitter taste). These three compounds are what make saffron one of the most researched spices in the world.

Origin: Kashmir, India

Mongra grade is the highest classification of Kashmiri saffron. It refers to only the red stigma tips, with no yellow or white parts. Our saffron is sourced directly from Kashmir, hand-picked during the October harvest, and naturally dried without chemicals.

How To Use

Take 2-3 strands and steep in 1 tablespoon of warm water or milk for 5-10 minutes. You will see the deep golden colour release slowly. If the colour releases instantly, the saffron may not be genuine.

Add the infused liquid (strands included) to your warm milk, water, or any Samah blend. Can be taken in the morning or evening. Many people prefer it before bed in warm milk.

Add 2-3 strands to rice (pulao, biryani), kheer, smoothies, porridge, or any recipe where you want both flavour and nutrition. Saffron pairs well with cardamom, almonds, and warm spices.

Frequently Asked Questions

How can I tell if saffron is genuine?

Real Kashmiri Mongra saffron has a deep red colour (no yellow or orange parts), a strong floral-honey aroma (not medicinal or metallic), and when steeped in warm water, it releases colour slowly over 10-15 minutes (not instantly). Fake saffron often uses artificial dye and releases colour immediately. Our saffron is lab tested and certified for purity.
